Plastic Free, Natural Soap Bars

Here at Wild Sage + Co we make and wrap everything by hand. We even cut our paper down to soap wrapping size using a knife and expert folding techniques (you can see it in the picture above)

All our soap bars are available with compostable paper packaging or as a ‘naked’ bar. These bars will still come with an ingredients list, so you can know exactly what your putting on your skin.

Biodegradable Packaging

We use ECO FLO Biodegradable Loose Fill packaging nuts which are made from gm free starch. These are the little white wotsit looking things that come in your parcel to keep the glass jars safe.

They are 100% biodegradable and compostable, and even melt when exposed to water (great fun for kids and lets be honest, adults too)

Our plastic free packing tape is made by Eco Craft in the UK (its actually available in our shop) and is also fully biodegradable. All our mailing boxes are made from recycled kraft paper and are fully recyclable and biodegradable.

All this means that you can rest assured that your not going to receive your order slathered in unnecessary plastic packaging.

Recyclable + Biodegradable Jars + Labels

We’re currently in the process of changing all our labels to 100% biodegradable ones. This wasn’t available in the UK until recently so were really excited to have it as part of our range!

As with all good things, it’s taking a little time to get every single label designed to perfection, but we hope to have made the change for our whole range by the end of the year

The jars we use are also 100% recyclable, or even up-cyclable! We do accept returns on your empty jars, but we always suggest keeping them for your next craft project, to cut down on shipping emissions and the power needed to recycle them.

(We just don’t have the facilities to clean and re-use them in the workshop)

Sadly, our jar lids do contain a small plastic covered cardboard pull out - these are necessary to prevent any liquid from spilling out the jars.

But they are recyclable!

So until we find a suitable plastic free alternative, we’ll be popping them in the weekly recycling along with everything else
