 (0 reviews)

Use with our traditional bristled shaving brush to create an incredibly creamy lather and apply. We have formulated this recipe with a base of Olive oil, Coconut oil and Shea butter to moisturise and leave the skin feeling naturally soft. We have also included some French green clay in this soap for its clarifying properties, helping to draw out toxins from the pores.

Lavender essential oils is renowned for its healing properties and benefits for sensitive skin, it works to calm and sooth irritated areas whilst also aiding healing. Cedarwood works similarly for dry, itchy or irritated patches, restoring our skins natural balance.

This shaving soap is a great present for anyone with an interest in natural skin care or who is looking for an alternative to shaving foam.

Cold Process

We use the cold process method to make our soaps and also a process called super-fatting. This allows us to keep the free oils and naturally occurring glycerine. Thats what makes our soaps so exceptionally moisturising.

The first thing you need to do is soak your shaving brush in warm water for 30 seconds. You can put it in a container of warm water or fill your sink with warm water and soak the brush in that.

Soften the soap with a tablespoon of warm water and let it soak for 15 minutes before pouring off any excess.

Squeeze the excess water out of your shaving brush. If you have too much water in the brush, it’ll make for thin, frothy, lather. Not enough water and it will be hard to develop lather at all. How wet the brush should be will also vary by what brush you’re using.

Load the brush, you do this by gently swirling the brush around on the surface of the soap for a minute or two — until you notice a good creamy lather start to form. Alternate the swirl direction (between clockwise and counter-clockwise) every few moments to help work the lather into the brush’s bristles.

Paint your wet face with the lather using the shaving brush and start shaving! We find cut throat razors work the best.

SOAP CARE

Since our hand-crafted soaps have no chemical preservatives, they deserve a little bit of care to keep them happy and prolong their lives.

All of our soaps contain a high percentage of natural glycerine, which is great for your skin as its incredibly moisturising, but it also attracts water. So, it's really important to keep them somewhere dry.

When you're not using your shaving soap it's best to keep water out of the tin, allowing it to dry between uses.  This will help keep your soap happy so you can keep feeling naturally fresh and fragrant for as long as possible!
